Blood pressure / A glass of beet juice a day, to improve it

Read Time:1 Minute, 50 Second

Beets contain a large amount of vitamins and minerals useful for health. With its abundance of nutritional value and various uses, there is no reason not to include beets in your regular diet. Health specialists recommend consuming beetroot juice to improve blood pressure and cardiovascular health and discover some of the other benefits that come from consuming this vegetable.

HEALTH BENEFITS

High blood pressure can be managed or controlled by eating better and drinking a glass of beetroot juice every day. Taking hypertension medications, on the other hand, has no guarantee that you will ever get better. Taking a pill to control blood pressure can only cause side effects, which will show up in your health later. Long-term hypertension itself can cause complications. When you control high blood pressure with drugs long-term, it can quietly damage your body before serious symptoms appear. Toxins can cause oxidative stress and inflammation. High blood pressure (and increased oxidative stress) forces your heart to pump harder to increase blood flow through your arteries. Over time, continued high pressure through these damaged arteries can cause them to potentially rupture, leading to dangerous internal bleeding (called an aneurysm). Other heart diseases can also appear from this unnatural condition.

A GLASS OF BEET JUICE A DAY

A study shows that a glass of beetroot juice a day is beneficial in reducing blood pressure in people with high blood pressure (hypertension). The study in question noted that three hours after drinking this juice, volunteers showed a reduction in blood pressure that lasted up to 24 hours. The researchers found that “inorganic nitrate and beet juice supplementation were associated with a significant reduction in systolic blood pressure.” Raw beets contain high levels of nitrate (NO3), which the body uses when needed to convert to biologically active nitrate (NO2) and nitric oxide (NO). Nitric oxide is a key molecule that our body produces to help all of our cells communicate with each other, transmitting signals throughout the body. It penetrates the underlying muscles and relaxes the arteries. Therefore, nitric oxide plays a critical role in blood pressure and overall blood circulation. In this process it is also useful for inhibiting inflammation and oxidative stress.
