Gastritis, how to prevent stomach disease

Read Time:3 Minute, 50 Second

Gastritis is a health problem that arises as a result of a series of physical and surgical factors that lead to swelling of the stomach mucosa. This condition often becomes chronic, which leads to further deterioration.

Causes of gastritis

There are several main reasons, which specialists call factors that cause gastritis.

Over drinking alcohol

Excessive drinking of alcohol or its frequent use can lead to the appearance of gastritis. The frequent interaction of the stomach tissues with alcohol leads to their damage, which leads to the appearance of gastritis for a long time.

Drugs

Some specific medications can also cause gastritis. It has been proven that people who take medicines like aspirin more often for a long time become potential people to be affected by gastritis.

Operations

The appearance of gastritis is also related to some surgical interventions. Some diseases such as stomach cancer necessarily require the removal of affected cells and tissues, but during this process the normal functioning of the stomach also changes.

Burn

Severe burns in the stomach area also change its normal functioning. In these cases, the body considers the stomach as something foreign, fighting it. This affects the tissue and mucosal damage of the stomach. Infections can also disrupt the way it works.

Weight loss through surgery

Although these procedures affect the removal of fat from the abdominal area, one of their strangest side effects is gastritis. In some cases, during these operations, we connect parts of the stomach with the digestive system. In this way, the unnecessary secretions of acids during digestion, combining with changes in the functioning of the stomach, become the cause of gastritis.

Psychological factors

Different psychological factors such as: Stress, tension, worries or depression can lead to abnormal secretions of the stomach as well as different juices. When they have nothing to react with, these juices attack the stomach tissues and cause gastritis. As with many other diseases, the key is in their prevention. If gastritis manages to appear once, it brings with it many rules and restrictions in the way of life. For this reason, it is better to take the necessary measures to prevent it.

Consultation with the doctor

Many of us are in the habit of taking over-the-counter medications to relieve stomach pain. If we want to be protected from gastritis, we must give up this procedure. Stomach pains are of different nature. We can’t know if the drug we bought without a prescription and that we drink, gives different results than we want. For this reason, it is always recommended to consult a doctor before taking any medicine.

Fresh food

If we want to be healthy and not have problems with gastritis, it is recommended to eat healthy foods. If possible, we should eliminate frozen products and foods. It is even worse if we consume food that has been in the refrigerator for a long time. Some types of bacteria develop in foods that are stored in such conditions, which can cause gastritis.

Avoid fatty and harmful foods

It is important to eat light and healthy foods. People who eat fast, fried and spicy foods are more prone to gastritis. When we eat fatty or spicy food, the structure of our body is changed along with the secretion of fluids that help digest the food. This can damage the digestive system and cause gastritis.

Avoid uncooked foods

Eating foods that are raw or raw is not healthy. Among these foods, meat leads. We must be sure that the food we eat is cooked or cooked properly. If it is half-ripe, it probably contains bacteria, which can easily enter the body through the stomach and will probably damage its tissues first.

Wash your hands often

Something we learn since we are children and that must be strictly maintained if we want to prevent gastritis is maintaining hygiene or the “healthy habit” of washing hands with soap before starting to eat. Since our hands touch and hold different things throughout the day, we can never be sure if we have not come into contact with any type of bacteria that can harm our body.

Do not eat unwashed fruits and vegetables

It is advisable not to eat unwashed fruits and vegetables, especially those sold in boxes or on the street. They will not only be covered in dust, but they are filled with a lot of bacteria, since they have been left for hours or days on the road. When we eat these fruits, bacteria enter our body and make it more exposed to a number of health problems, including gastritis.
