Sleep Deprivation on Your Body

Read Time:1 Minute, 12 Second

We do so many things every day that we have to deny ourselves something, and often that thing is sleep. We either decide to sleep later or wake up early to complete the tasks at hand. As a result, we wake up as if we hadn’t slept at all.

We get sick. Our immune system is directly related to sleep, and lack of sleep makes it harder for the immune system to fight disease.

It’s harder to think logically and react quickly, which can be dangerous, especially if an immediate reaction is needed – for example, when you’re driving.

You gain weight if you sleep less than five hours a day.

The health of the skin begins to “destroy”: wrinkles, capillaries, acne begin to appear and in general the body ages faster than usual.

The risk of cardiovascular disease begins to increase.

The risk of developing cancer increases.

Sexual desire decreases. If you sleep less than five hours a week, the levels of testosterone and sex hormones decrease by 15 percent.

We forget more. When we sleep, our brain processes all the information. Lack of sleep prevents him from doing this.

What should you do? There is only one solution: sleep more. If you have to wake up at 7 in the morning, sleep at 11 in the afternoon.

Early sleep deprivation symptoms may include:
  • Drowsiness.
  • Inability to concentrate.
  • Memory problems.
  • Less physical strength.
  • Less ability to fight off infections.
