
This sleeping position causes wrinkles on your face
People generally have a favorite sleeping position. Whether you’re a fan of the fetal position, sleeping on your stomach or enjoy sleeping on your back, you’ve probably heard about the various advantages and disadvantages of your favorite sleeping position.
According to Dr. Beth Goldstein, you should avoid sleeping on your side because this position can accelerate the formation of wrinkles. This is the worst position when it comes to appearance, because the face is pressed against the pillow for hours in an unnatural position.
The same applies to the appearance of the chest, where lines can appear if you always sleep on your side. Stomach sleeping can be just as bad, according to experts.
“Wrinkles from sleeping on your stomach are thought to be the result of constant pressure on the skin,” explains Dr. Goldstein, adding that when you’re young and have a lot of collagen, those wrinkles recede immediately after waking up. However, continues Dr. Goldstein, “as we age, the constant pressure on the skin can lead to a situation that cannot be fixed so easily.”
Sleeping on your back is the best option for your skin
If you’re prone to frequent tossing and turning during the night, you can try placing pillows on both sides of your face and body to prevent tossing and turning during sleep.
Although it would be nice to spare your face wrinkles as long as possible, it is most beautiful when you wake up rested.
