Why Shiba Inu (SHIB) has unlimited supply and it still has value

Read Time:1 Minute, 27 Second

Shiba Inu (SHIB) is a cryptocurrency that has a fixed supply of quadrillion (10^16) tokens, but a large portion of these tokens (50%) were distributed as a “founder’s reward” to the creators and early investors of the project. The remaining 50% of tokens were locked in a “smart contract” and released gradually over time. This has created a scarcity of tokens that are actively traded on the market, which has driven up the price as demand for the cryptocurrency has increased. Additionally, SHIB has gained popularity due to the hype around the wider cryptocurrency market and the fact that it is a meme-inspired cryptocurrency, which has attracted a lot of attention from retail investors.

How much is ‘quadrillion’

Quadrillion is a number that represents 1 followed by 15 zeros (1,000,000,000,000,000). It’s a very large number, and it’s hard to imagine how big it is. Quadrillion is often used to describe big numbers like the national debt, the number of stars in the observable universe, and the number of atoms in a large sample of a material. In the case of Shiba Inu(SHIB) cryptocurrency, it has a fixed supply of quadrillion tokens, but only half of that amount is actively traded on the market, creating a scarcity of tokens which contributes to its high price.

How much is half of quadrillion

Half of a quadrillion is 500 trillion. To calculate this, you can simply divide the number of quadrillion (1,000,000,000,000,000) by 2, which equals 500,000,000,000,000. So if the total supply of a cryptocurrency is quadrillion and half of it is locked or held by the creator, then the circulating supply would be 500 trillion.
